Rape crime accumulates locally as well as a whole country. Recently, here in Chicago, a man, named Erik Coquet (27 years old), raped an 11-year old girl he met online. Coquet, a father of three, gave the girl beer before attacking her. After sexually abusing the girl, he dropped her off at a Dunkin Donuts. The girl calls her sister and tells her that she is in pain, and a rape kit was performed later, on May 9, at the Lurie Children’s Hospital. Coquet’s bail is $750,000 (NBC, 2016). This provides evidence that rape is everywhere, but there are ways to help this issue stop.
