Luis's Debate and Controversy
“Guilty until proven Innocence” is the system that is used in the United States of America. What we see in a few court cases is allegations on men who have been accused of rape but later determined that the rape allegations were false. Their isn’t a statistic to cite on whether how many cases have been classified as false allegations, we’ll probably never know the cold hard facts that it all leads to us. But we do understand what are the issues when it comes to someone having those types of allegations. Accroding to Falselyaccused.co.uk “The person who is falsely accused of a sexual offence (whether major or minor) may well never recover from the serious damage that the accuser does to the accused reputation.” People who have been falsely accused of this will never see the daylight without being threatened, or will never be respect or be welcome to others. They’ll always be remembered with that lie when they go out to places because people would always have it in the back of their mind, even though the accusations are false. Once this happens, it’s almost impossible to get your life back on track. That means that the falsely accused person will have lifetime repercussions because of a lie. No matter what a person has done in their lives, they should never have to deal with being falsely accused of sexual offence.”
Julissa's Debate and Controversy
One controversial debate that comes when talking about feminism is “women against women,” or “anti-feminism.” There is a whole world of dedication to anti-feminism. Some women believe that they do not need modern feminism because of different reasons-- mostly because they don’t understand the real meaning of feminism. According to the website Women Against Feminism, one woman made a list of why she does not need feminism. Her first on the list is “I respect men.” However, this woman obviously did not have the knowledge on feminism’s true intentions on gender equality. Feminism was created by women, and she should come to realize all the struggles that women fought for so that she could have the opportunities that she has as a woman today. Women back then did not have the option to vote, or to work in certain job occupations. This woman also states that “being a woman is not a disadvantage,” but no one ever had said that before. She seems to show that she isn’t really educated on the concept of feminism-- because she believes that feminism only helps one sex become more superior than the other, which isn’t true.
Another controversial issue is false rape accusations. For example, there is one story about a young man who was affected negatively by a false rape accusation that cost him his family, his freedom, and even his life. According to Telegraph.co.uk, James Chesire was “accused of rape at 17 years old.” He seemed to be described as a “sensitive” young man. The article also states that “.. yet, two weeks after the teenager was acquitted of the charge - and with his adult life still ahead of him - Jay was discovered hanging from a tree in his local park.” This proves that false rape accusations are a very delicate and serious topic. Men are affected mentally by these types of experiences, and there should be a change as to how people determine if someone is guilty of rape or sexual assault. This is important to acknowledge because false rape accusations are a popular method to gain “revenge,” or to simply be the one to ruin an innocent person’s life. There are many controversial issues about feminism and rape culture; and there needs to be clarity.

Damarys' Debate and Controversy
Society finds different ways for sexualization to take part of the minds of people. High heels have been perpetuated to oversexualized women. Media induced men to think of heels as an “erotic fantasy” and an expectation for women “to be sexy.” During World War II, every G.I. expected their pin-up in heels and it started to be expected that a woman's responsibility is to be feminine and alluring (Charky, 2015). What society once considered as a kind of sexual assertion, it is now viewed as sexuality. Some people feel offended when asked if they consider themselves a feminist; therefore, I find it unlikely enough that they even know what being a feminist is and arguing about cultural feminism in the subject of rape culture is bound to help people understand about this common issue. A twitter organization, Women Against Feminism, involve their supporters defending themselves saying, “Catcalling isn't even close to the same as rape, you weren’t assaulted because a guy whistled.” Another anti-feminist intends to say, “My boyfriend, brother, and dad all respect women and should not be generalized as potential rapists just because they are male.” A victim of rape who continues to support Women Against Feminism says, “I don’t need feminism because although I was raped by a man, I don’t hate men. I’m a survivor not a victim (Luna, 2016).” Rape victim blaming is a common response to sexual assault. In South Africa, students at Rhodes University have to attend class with their rapists but lecturers say rape occurs because victims “do not pray enough.” In 2015, 43,195 incidents of rape have occurred in South Africa. Protests at Rhodes University are now going against rape culture and sexual assault policies and making a controversy through Twitter with the #RUReferenceList. With a controversial threat to end rape culture; however, anti-feminists go against any action giving because they don’t want someone to speak for them (Agency, 2016). As oversexualization occurs as a cause of rape culture, people debate whether or not nudity is oversexualized. The ATTN; Public Nudity in Europe vs. America had viral comments, in which some people still want nudity to be a sexualized aspect. A commenter on Facebook on the video commented, “I personally want nudity to be sexual. I don't want it to become so everyday that it holds no sexual appeal any more. I like that my husband still sees me being naked as a sexual experience and not like it's everyday bread and butter. Boobs aren't sexual blah blah blah. Well they should be.” A reply to that comment went against the commenter’s idea, “When you have a genuine connection with someone it becomes less about the physical body (ATTN, 2016).”
