Rape culture and sexual assault is a social and cultural issue. When someone is raped or sexually attacked in any other way, their attacker would consider it as a pleasurable moment in which both of them wanted it, but a victim would never say they wanted a forced sexual contact. Stereotypical comments that both women and men bring a big impact on why rape happens. It’s all on people’s beliefs and thoughts towards both genders. With sexual attraction in mind, another cause of rape and sexual assault is control and domination. Having the power and violence to force somebody into sexual contact comes from oversexualisation; therefore, rape happens because of stereotypes, poor communication, and learned violence.
